When starting on your journey to a healthier you, it can be a little overwhelming with all the information thrown at you. I know I definitely felt super confused at first, but also wanted to know everything I possibly could. So I’ve compiled a list of my top 3 favorite books that have helped me make a little more sense of this thing we call healthy living.
1.Body By God by Dr Ben Lerner
Your body is amazing. God designed your body to thrive and live in perfect health. The problem, explains Dr. Ben Lerner, is when we as imperfect people interfere with God’s beautiful design for our bodies. Junk food, high-stress living, and neglecting exercise are just a few of the things we do to damage our health and wellness. This book goes in depth explaining how to care for this precious gift we’ve been given through the 5 essentials of health: positive mindset, clear nervous system, nutrition, exercise, and minimizing toxins. I’ve had the wonderful pleasure of meeting Dr Lerner and hearing him speak many times. He is a leader and is so incredibly passionate about health and treating our bodies like the gift they are.
2. In Defense of Food by Michael Pollan
Michael Pollan is one of my favorite authors. He unapologetically reveals the shocking and disgusting truth behind the food industry and simplifies what it means to eat healthy. “Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants”. This book is a great starting point in learning about nutrition in the easiest way.
3. Cooked by Michael Pollan
