After Jacob and I got married, we only had a week break from school. We took a quick “mini-moon” all around California starting in San Diego, then heading to Santa Barbara, San Louis Obispo, and ending our trip in Yosemite. The trip was amazing and just what we needed after all the planning and stress that comes with a wedding.
We got married on September 27, 2015 at the San Diego Botanical Gardens in Encinitas, CA. The whole day from start to finish was beyond anything I could have ever imagined. We spent our first 2 nights at the Westgate Hotel in downtown San Diego. It was a wedding gift from close friends (also bridesmaids) and it was the perfect start to our new lives together. Jacob and I are both born and raised in San Diego (Carlsbad) and LOVE our city so so much.
Our next stop was Santa Barbara. We stayed in a cute little air bnb place right in the heart of down town. We went to the beach, rode bikes into town, and ate the most amazing seafood. Then was San Louis Obispo. We stayed in the adorable down town area at the Apple Farm Inn – too cute and homey!! Our favorite place to eat in SLO is Firestone, a grill famous for their tritip sandwiches and classic 805 beer. By the end of the week, we were so excited to head to Yosemite. We adore Yosemite and go as often as we can. We stayed in Curry Village and chose a heated tent cabin. It was the first time in Yosemite we didn’t spend sleeping on the ground and it was a nice change! Especially with a heater!!
When the week was over, we headed back to our little home in the bay. It was our first time living together and we were giddy to open all our wedding gifts in our new home together. Marriage is the greatest, and I’m so happy I get to wake up every morning with my best friend.
